The light on the Mediterranean, the warm temperatures that bathe Valencia, the history embedded in every corner of this city on the River Turia and the cutting-edge cultural facilities dotted all over the city are merely an aperitif for the immense banquet you will enjoy in Valencia this week. Following the success of the first two editions of MTV Winter, the City of Arts and Sciences is once again, on 13^th February, hosting this incredible music event. But there's even more: from 10^th to 21^st February, the city streets will come alive with theatre wherever you turn, thanks to the València Escena Oberta Festival (VEO).

Taking a break this week in Valencia is a great idea. The British group the Arctic Monkeys will be playing on Saturday together with Mystery Jets, Lightspeed Champion and the Valencian band Fuzzy White Casters at the City of Arts and Sciences. Furthermore, the eighth edition of VEO will be examining the lines between reality and fiction. In fact, Valencia will be staging a series of theatrical proposals characterised by their use of interdisciplinary languages and public places, often fairly unconventional ones. Settings such as the Campanar Market, the Zircó room, located in Cruz Cubierta, and the Nursery Gardens will become theatrical stages for a few days.

And if you're in the mood to enjoy nature and relax, in Valencia you'll find large expanses of green such as the former course of the River Turia, the Monforte Gardens or the Royal Gardens, as well as leisure parks such as Bioparc and a wide variety of first class restaurants where you can sample the gastronomic specialities of the city of Valencia.
