Bioparc Valencia

Exploring the winding streets of Valencia, learning its history through its historical monuments and enjoying the superb views from the City of Arts and Sciences are all perfect ways to discover the city.

But if it’s nature you’re after, there’s no better way to spend the day than at Bioparc Valencia. With hundreds of species all living together, this new generation zoo is based on an innovative concept of zoo-immersion, where visitors explore a range of wild habitats organised by means of an advanced, invisible system of barriers. The Bioparc recreates the ecosystems of Africa and other surprising places, such as Kitum Cave, the forest clearing and the two islands of Madagascar.

The park is home to an ever-growing family, with the offspring born from various species of lemur, giraffe and hippopotamus, among others. The first giraffe born in the park, Tumai, was actually named online by visitors to the park, who are currently helping to decide the name of the baby Nile hippopotamus that was born here just over a month ago.
At Bioparc Valencia, next to Valencia’s Cabecera park, the animals live in groups and interact with other species just as they do in the wild, though without the danger of predator species, which are separated by discreet, camouflaged barriers. The animals, vegetation and landscape of this superb natural enclosure are a wonderful learning experience and a great way to discover how species from distant continents live.
