In the various studies on climate and tourism, the most used climatic parameters are, amongst others:
Average annual temperatures G4.
Maximum average temperatures (July) G5.
Minimum average temperatures (January) G6.
Thermal amplitude G7.
Number of registered days with rainfall G8.
The number of hours of sun per year G9.
However, and despite the economic importance of tourist activity, references to climatic indicators that orientate both demand and tourist investments are scarce. In this context, the exception is the Tourist Climate index by Clausse y Gueroult, which use a synthesis of the variables of annual average temperature, sunshine and rainfall.
It is an indicator with the advantage of especially highlighting the possibility of using tourist services in the most de-seasonalised way possible throughout the year. The G10 reflects the value of the index for various locations, the highest levels being reached in the area of the south-eastern peninsula.
